they really hate the meme and give it hell here. they point out that the worse thing about the theme is, it is simply a personal attack, it leaves the discussion of actually talking about the movie/game/show/etc and instead gets territorial. this episode is sort of in response to the recent big pop culture moments of Endgame/GOT and the ensuing social media bloodbaths. This is a pretty fascinating episode talking about a popular phenomenon, the "Shhh, let people enjoy things" meme, which they discuss at length, it's uses towards silencing debate, it's appeal towards authoritarians, it's overuse in then popular online lexicon. i know there is content like this made every day constantly, but these guys are pretty unique IMO.
they regularly call out all forms of corporate media while doing deep dives into the militant fascism & heroic suicides of popular superhero/space films. Filled with information that only a former Commander-in-Chief who was impeached could know, this is the most authentic, terrifying novel to come along in many years.Struggle Session is a culture/politics podcast that tends to do it's own thing.
Set over the course of three days and over 100 chapters, The President Is Missing sheds a stunning light upon the inner workings and vulnerabilities of our nation.
